Hola 👋
Manuel Antonio is internationally recognized for its lush rainforests, pristine beaches, and abundant wildlife. I visited for the first time in 2012 and immediately fell in love with the town. To help you plan the perfect getaway, we’ve curated a list of the best hotels in Manuel Antonio. Each offers stellar experiences and amenities catering to various travel preferences.
Anna at “El Escondite” in Tulemar
Tulemar Resort
The Tulemar Resort is nestled within 33 acres of lush rainforest. It’s a luxurious retreat that combines the best of both worlds, offering a mix of hotel rooms and privately owned vacation rental units. The resort’s bungalows, casitas, and villas are designed to blend seamlessly with their surroundings while providing guests with modern amenities and the utmost comfort.
We recently stayed in the new El Escondite villa with other family, and it was surreal how beautiful it was. When it’s just me and Anna, we love our little Mini Suite because we don’t need much space.
One of the standout features of Tulemar Resort is its on-site sloth sanctuary. Guests can observe these captivating creatures up close and learn about the resort’s commitment to conservation. Costa Rica has no private beaches, but Tulemar has private access to a remote beach. There are three swimming pools and an on-site restaurant that cater to various tastes.
With a dedicated concierge (thanks Chris!) to help plan activities and excursions, guests at Tulemar Resort can experience the best that Manuel Antonio offers. Enjoy guided tours of the national park, thrilling zipline, and river rafting adventures. We recommend Amigos Del Rio for an awesome river rafting tour. Check availability for Tulemar here.

Arenas Del Mar Resort
Arenas Del Mar is a luxurious eco-resort that embodies sustainable tourism without sacrificing comfort and elegance. Perched on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the resort features spacious, well-appointed rooms and suites, many of which offer stunning ocean views. It’s the most expensive option looking at the per-person cost. We stayed here in the pandemic using our Chase credit card points, but normally it would be out of our budget.
One of the highlights of Arenas Del Mar is its private beach access, allowing guests to enjoy the pristine sands and warm waters without the crowds. The resort also offers a variety of spa services, perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring Manuel Antonio National Park.
Food lovers will delight in the resort’s exceptional restaurant, which showcases locally-sourced ingredients and Costa Rican flavors. Sustainability is at the heart of Arenas Del Mar, and the resort has been awarded the highest rating for sustainable tourism by the Costa Rican Tourism Board. Check availability for Arenas Del Mar here.

At Hotel Si Como No, guests can immerse themselves in the beauty of the surrounding rainforest while enjoying a range of on-site amenities, including two restaurants, a spa, and two swimming pools, one of which is adults-only. The hotel’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its solar-heated water, energy-efficient design, and support of local conservation efforts.
